I went to the infopass to inquire about the "additional review" letter I got from TSC. Officer did some search and told me the following " this case is in transit to an officer TODAY, just 30 minutes before. you dont have to worry about this notice". He also said that call us back in 45 days .. I did fax all the details to the Senator but am not sure whether this resulted from the inquiry.

I have Canadian GC since 2.9 years ago. I have to move to Canada in the next 2-3 months in order to maintain it. Should I move? I have stable job in US. I mostly thought I would have received my US GC by now. Is there any legal implications if I don't move. Do I just have to mail my canadian GC back to canadian consultate?
It is your call.
If you think your job is quite stable and you would be OK for next 1-2 years and your PD is close it is worth staying here because if US economy is bad I don't think Canadian Economy would do very good either.
Otherwise you should try to maintain canadian GC. As they say a bird in hand..... If you can find a job in canada life there is good. I was in a similar dilemma as you last year but by God's grace got my GC in time.
Some people told me last year that Canadians are not very strict about enforcing 3 year presence rule. Some people were admitted even after they stayed out for more than 3 years after landing.
But today I read on this forum that they strict these days.

I know it includes FB application but that is easily offset by EB-CP also seeking visa numbers.
So the wait time is really very long for July 2007 filers with later PD.

Well, thanks all for your responses, but I am as cfused as I was before I posted the question. Do any of you have any sources to back your claims. I know for sure that worldwide income has to be reported, so thanks for that clarification desi3933. But do you have a source that mentions that a person on H4 can for sure work outside. Many thanksa again guys. All your help is appreciated.

It is against immigration rules to work in any form or manner on an H-4 visa. The immigration rules clearly state that H4 status holders can only do voluntary work.

I had asked this question to the immigration lawyer at IV. She said that if you are working for the same company at their offices aboard & go for Consular Processing ( it is the only option as you can not go 485 route) it should be just fine. However, if the company that you are working for when you are abroad and the company that did your GC are not the same thenit is almost impossible to prove that the job exists when you arrive in USA after CP.
It is an interesting question i am also worried about. I was told by my company attorney that i need to file I-140 asap as USCIS is in process of changing how long you can wait with approved LC before filing I-140. Once you have I-140 approved, basically you can come back to the US on an H-1 to work for the company (you will need a new h-1, even if you have a 3 yr. extension based on approved I-140). Then if and when the priority dates become current you should be able to file for I-485

the best way to handle archives done in photoshop is PNG, in the window of your library you can modify the file as you like
for vectors use illustrator, in flash you can open the archives directly (importing like .ai or .eps)... if you use corel draw, exists and exporter to SWF you can find it in the site of corel

I am not well aware of what is to be done. But isn't it a good idea to mail USCIS explaining the situation and possible extension you may need. This keeps USCIS informed about your situation in advance.

Hi All,
We took an infopass appointment at the Local USCIS office to get a temporary proof of our permanent residency status. Can anyone suggest us what documents to show ?
As I understand we need to show passport , driver's license,485 approval notice, police report and I-90 application.
Is there anything else that we need to show?

AFAIK, for summer the courses can be part time. This was the case back in 2001 when i went for my masters.
Please check this with the school and your wife can take one evening class and be enrolled for atleast 3-4 months and move on to the F-1 Visa. Community college will be a good place to start, as she will not be spending a lot of money also.
