Why does it matter that he was gay? I thought that gay people where supposed to be the same as everyone else. Did his being gay give him some sort of super powers to break codes?

No, he was blessed by Mother Nature, and he obviously also had an analytical mind. :p

I find it highly unnecessary for the TSA to pat down kids, especially, kids younger than 8-9 yrs old.

    Agree on point one.

TSA lady groped my sister's boobs one flight, as if, last time I checked there are no records of people hiding crap in their boobs.

C-4 can be hidden in breast implants.

Unless the TSA "lady" was butch, I would not concern yourself. ;)

after the mac pro updates yesterday, i'm not after anything more. However, i would like to now see software improvements - Aperture2 must be due (though probably not at a consumer show) and i like think Apple might be looking to open up a new line of software - Maybe something to rival Adobe CS3? OS X doesn't even have a paint application for gods sake. Wouldn't Apple versions of photoshop/illustrator/after effects (bring back shake please!) be something cool to have a look at? Maybe thats more for WWDC?

    Troll Harder, D****n...

I have half a mind to send a copy of this thread and your deets to the Best Buy you thieved from.

thread archived just in case I decide to.

btw: someone commented that kid would have his pay docked..no he won't. It's illegal to do that in the U.S.

edit: **'d out your name so I can't be accused of revealing your personal info in a forum here.

The first picture is fake, that's beyond the question. Look at the iCal icon it's much too wide. From this angle, it should be rather taller than wider. The other icons look out of shape too.
I don't see it. Holding my iPhone at nearly the same angle and about the same distance they look identical.

It's not a rumour and it only applies to Apple in the U.S... and maybe Canada...

Maybe I'm just pissed off I'm in the UK. No thanksgiving!! :p

Yes, it's Apples highly erratic priorities that are puzzling.

Their extreme hypocrisy and superiority complex that causes them to go into denial in so many cases.

They stonewall and refuse to operate in a candid & open way with customers. Instead they practice silently hiding as many of their issues as possible.

Apples one true area of brilliance is their masterful art of marketing. In the finest example of typical American deceptive advertising, Apple describes their products as "magical & revolutionary".

    What a crock.

They can't or won't even build a cool running MBP, after years on the market.

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1105643

I won't get into a furball over your post. Which large tech company operates in a candid & open way with customers?

The one's that license out their OS and dont give a sweet damn about User Experience, beyond what the absolute lowest sticker price will allow. Right?

    No?

    Ok.

this is one of the worst titles for a story I have read. It also sounds like whoever wrote the story has no knowledge of anything that's been happening in architecture for about a century.

Clean, modern design? Must be influenced by the iPhone!

There's a use for Apple (they can sell you both the adapter and the DVI cable, at 40$ each) ;)

:D Exactly. I think not alot of people know that you can bypass the adapter altogether. Not only would it be cheaper but it would take away from the bulk.

I still remember using my iBook g3 with 10.1... those were the days!

Why did Apple do away with live feeds of the event? That seems like a good idea. What are they trying to avoid?

That little thing called bandwidth. You know how many people will be hitting that streaming video stream if it were live? With it being tape delayed, Apple can somewhat spread out the number of people who will be watching it.

Heck I have a hard enough time viewing the keynote hours after it was released, never mind trying to do it live.

All seems rather silly to me.

Over the years, there must have been 85 threads on some type of reputation/like/thanks system and it's always been shot down (thankfully). What changed?

Before it was sooo.... hard. My wrist still hurts from dragging one single file to the Applications folder. Oh, and I just love having to pay sales tax on the apps.

I don't hate the Mac App store, I just don't think it should be a factor in the award. With that said, its Apples award and they can do as they please with it, including making acceptance of onerous terms a prerequisite to compete.
It's a hell of a lot easier updating your apps and re-installing applications through the Mac App Store than any previous method. You don't have to check every single app on your machine to see if it's updated, nor do you have to go to the developers website if they don't have an automatic updater or even a manual updater.

uh ok... "built in pdf reader... windows marketplace - providing users easy access to Windows applications." - never seen that in an operating system before...

True but that's a very very very early build; not even a win8 build; looks like Windows 7 SP.

I think we should wait for a while to see what win8 brings to us.

As of now, it's got the pathetic ribbon UI.
