Hi, I just got my LC approved after about 7 months of waiting as EB3, My PD is Sep 08. Its now time to start filing for the I-140, what can I do to port my EB3 to EB2? (I'm from Europe and I have 6 years of work experience and a MS Finance degree from a US university).
Do I need to "change" job within my company?
Do I need to redo all the work (job postings, PERM application etc) even that I have my LC approved?

I think after reading your case, it is just a standard operating procedure. Not sure why you thought of it as being punished unless some dmv official behaved unprofessionally or rudely with you . I suggest you wait for sometime and you will definitely get your license renewed back.

Getting the driver's license is not the problem, I know it will come. Problem here is why I cannot drive outside SC for up to 60 days waiting for the DL card? Remember I've to surrender my old SC license. This is serious limitation to my work, e.g. I need to go to Atlanta on 08/19 and I cannot drive there.
In September I will go to Italy, what if I don’t get my DL till then?

I think after reading your case, it is just a standard operating procedure. Not sure why you thought of it as being punished unless some dmv official behaved unprofessionally or rudely with you . I suggest you wait for sometime and you will definitely get your license renewed back.

There are two pointless threads on this site, one is titled "The yanks are coming" and another as "US political system is broken". They both contain long rants of a single user. I seriously doubt if anybody ever reads them, as is evident from the absence of any other user's reply to these threads. Why don't we just remove them, or block them from showing up on the main page. At least it will free up space for more useful threads.
Those are excellent threads buddy. If you look at the content the poster seems to spend significant time to gather the facts and the presentation is extremely detailed. Somebody mentioned the lighten up thread its also great, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. I agree that some information may not be strictly immigration related its ok. This is my personal opinion.

What do you mean by 4 part payments?
Here is the scenario
Lets say I have Rs 100,000 principal loan and I can make 4 payments of Rs 22,000 (4X22,000= 88,000) and tells ICICI bank to span rest of Rs. 12,000 (100,000-88,000=12000) in 13 EMI.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Also note - you are allowed only 4 part payments in a year. Especially with ICICI bank. So plan carefully. That way you are left with only 13 EMI's with a smaller amount.

My EAD cheques got encashed today. I had sent a single cheque for myself and my wife. I do notice two LIN numbers on the back of the cheque. BUT when i search for those numbers on USCIS website its says number DO NOT exist in the system. Has anyone faced similar issue?

Biometrics Updated by USCIS on Feb 2009

I opened SR's on 3rd Sept 2009 to check the status of my I-485 and got a disturbing email that I am in EB3 category and visa not available. Opened another SR to clarify this but did not get proper reply. Also they said they cannot correct the EB category.

Please appply EAD renewal in 120 days advance. You will get in time. :)
If I work on EAD and do not get the EAD card before it gets expires, do I need to inform my employer about the status. If I inform them they will be removing my name from the payroll and it will be hard to include it again. It is like my job getting terminated.

For some reason I remember this Venkat80 got his GC approved. If he is the same guy and playing with our emotions then this guy must be banned right away from IV. Otherwise I am sorry..

Unfortunately this is nothing but an extension of the current program which is set to expire again. There is an expanded Conrad Bill with several co spnsors waiting in the wings and efforts are continuing to find a vehicle for it. As always we are up against "CIR only' and "nothing goes" legislators from either party who command significant votes together despite their opposing stands on immigration.
The health care reform bill, if it sees light of day may be one such vehicle. In the meanwhile we need you to contact your legislators and inform them of the issues. Take copies of the bill and explain its benefits. This will be invaluable if the bill does come up.

I got different answers from Khanna and Murthy.
Khanna office saying we can apply for 485 with old priority date(140 will be approved with new pritority date), murthy office said it's better to get 140 approval with old priority date and then go for 485.
check with your attorney.
when you file for the 485 you can use old priority date. priority dates can be transferred if old 140 was approved and you changed the company to restart the process all over again.

As both your I 140 are approved, I do not see any major problem. any wasy you are planning to use AC21. Why dont you use your attorney, in that way you can feel secure. If I 140 approved + 180 days from receipt date you should be fine.
But I would advice you to take any expert opinion. But use your own lawyer and I believe you will do fine

Very similar issue happened with my relative just a couple of months ago.
Her I-140 was denied and H1-B expired in January 2009. There was nothing she could do. The company refused to extend H1-B based on the old labor and applied for a new labor instead. The issue with her I-140 was an incorrectly filed labor under EB2 instead of EB3.
Now she quickly moved to B1 (Visitor visa) on the suggestion of her lawyer to maintain status.
Since you have the option of renewing your H1-B, that is probably the best thing to do. Good luck to you :)

But I think it's thanks to CBN who pulled the consulate to Hyd when they were debating to have the consulate in Hyd or Bangalore. From what I know YSR govt just boomed up the realty prices but nothing else, though realty went up in other parts of the country too.
PS: I'm not very sure but just expressed my thoughts as we are talking about consulate/Hyd/how proud we should be etc in this thread.For those who know better or disagree with me please feel free to do so by posting in the thread but not by giving red/accompanying mssgs. These days I'm so cautious that unless absolutely sure I don't take any chances with posting on threads so as to avoid upsetting people even remotely.
